Lancaster DJ company, All Party Starz Entertainment is now offering a bilingual DJ team to perform at weddings and other events. DJ Jimmy Rodriguez is joining in with Eric Godfrey of all Party Starz entertainment to meet the needs of customers with bilingual guests. Since 1990 the Spanish population of Lancaster has increased from under 25% to just over 40%. Reading Pennsylvania, just a few miles up the road now has a population that is 60% Spanish Speaking.
Owner Eric Godfrey commented, “We’re getting more and more calls asking if we have a DJ that speaks Spanish or specializes in Spanish music. Jimmy Rodriguez and myself have become great friends over the last couple of years. I have a lot more wedding experience, Jimmy is bilingual and knows Spanish music very well. We’ve discussed this and decided that we really want to join forces to try to help all of the people locally that are looking for DJs that can do music in both languages.”
With over 30 years experience in the wedding industry, Godfrey keeps a keen eye on the trends and the demographics in the area that he is serving. The average couple getting married these days are between the ages of 27 and 31. When looking at census data for the Lancaster County area, the average age in the Hispanic population is 23 while the rest of the population is over 35 years old meaning there are going to be a lot more weddings of Spanish speaking couples moving forward.
Godfrey ran one of the largest and most respected DJ companies in the Phoenix Arizona area, Starz Entertainment for 15 years before returning to his home state of Pennsylvania in 2013. He is originally from Hanover Pennsylvania and graduated from Villanova University in the Philadelphia area. After serving 6 years as a U.S. Navy officer, he settled in the Reading and Allentown areas before work took him to the Phoenix metro area. Having been a part-time DJ for nearly 25 years he went full-time running Starz Entertainment in 2003. Missing family and seasons, Godfrey and his wife Lisa turned Starz entertainment over to some trusted colleagues and moved to Lancaster. He started All Party Starz in late 2013.
Jimmy Rodriguez has been a fan of music for many years and has worked as a karaoke host and DJ for the past 7 years. He started in karaoke and transitioned into DJ. In the last few years he has provided services for a wide variety of events and is knowledgeable in a wide variety of music. Godfrey and Rodriguez met through their love of karaoke at the local American Legion Post 34. Rodriguez takes pride in helping people to have a great time and loves to watch a crowd partying to their favorite music.
